The pricing formula
Price = Generations × Retry factor + Hours of work × Rate + Revision buffer
- Generations: the cost of all the frames and clips you need at the service’s prices.
- Retry factor: 2 for simple scenes and objects, 3 for scenes with people, complex motion or text.
- Hours of work: script, prompt tuning, selection, editing, communication with the client.
- Rate: what your hour is worth. You set it based on your experience and the market in your niche.
- Revision buffer: usually 20 to 30% of the total, if revisions are included in the price.
Below are worked examples. The rate of 1000 rubles per hour is used as an example; use your own.

How to raise your price without arguments
Sell packages, not hours. It is easier for a client to choose from three options:
| Package | What is included |
|---|---|
| Basic | 1 video of 15 seconds, an inexpensive model, 1 round of revisions |
| Standard | 1 video, a flagship model, music and text, 2 rounds of revisions |
| Premium | 3 versions of the video for different platforms (9:16, 1:1, 16:9), 3 rounds of revisions |
Show the savings. Compare yourself not with other freelancers but with the client’s alternative: a shoot day, a photographer, a designer. Your advantage is speed and price.
Take a prepayment. At least 50%: you pay for generations right away.
What to agree on before starting
- what exactly the client gets: number of videos or photos, formats, length;
- how many rounds of revisions are included;
- what the client provides: product photos, logo, texts;
- deadlines;
- who is responsible for the rights to the client’s materials. Do not use other people’s faces, brands or music: AI video for commercial use.
Common mistakes
- Pricing from a single generation. There is always more than one attempt.
- Endless revisions. Without a revision limit, any order ends up at a loss.
- A flagship model for drafts. Make drafts on cheap models in low resolution, and the final on the flagship.
- A forgotten subscription. If you pay for a service by subscription and have few orders in a month, expiring credits eat your margin. With pay-per-generation this does not happen.

In short
The price of a custom AI video is generations with 2 or 3 attempts, your time at your rate and a revision buffer. Generations are usually the smallest part: a 15-second video costs 250 to 2550 rubles in generations. Sell in packages, limit the number of revisions and take a prepayment.
