Platform requirements change, so check the exact values in their help pages.
On KADR (kadr-ai.ru) the set of formats differs between video models: 9:16 and 16:9 are available almost everywhere, 1:1 on Seedance, Kling and Wan 2.7, while 4:5 is almost absent among video models, so for the feed take 1:1 or 3:4 (Seedance). Veo 3.1 only makes 16:9 and 9:16, Hailuo only 16:9.

Why not crop
If you generate a horizontal 16:9 video and crop it to 9:16, less than half the frame remains. The hero may end up beyond the edge, and the camera movement will be aimed into emptiness. If you need two platforms (for example YouTube and Shorts), generate two versions of the scene: 16:9 and 9:16.
Wallpapers for any screen: phone wallpapers with AI.
In short
Choose the format before generation: 9:16 for Reels, Shorts, TikTok, VK Clips and stories, 16:9 for YouTube, 1:1 and 4:5 for the feed, 3:4 for marketplaces. Resolution: 480p for drafts, 1080p for publishing, 4K for printed images. Do not crop finished clips to another format, generate a separate version.
