What Kling 4.0 is
Kling is made by the Chinese company Kuaishou. Version 4.0 was announced at the end of September 2026. The Kling line is known for strong people, facial expressions and camera movement: Kling v3 review. The main change in 4.0 is length and control: up to 30 seconds in one go, first and last frame, reference photos and editing of a finished video.
Modes on KADR

Limitations
- No sound. The video is silent; when editing, the sound of the original clip stays. Add music and voice during editing: how to add voice to a video.
- No branded Kling «faces» (the platform’s ready-made characters). Set your own character with reference photos.
- Video references are not accepted, photos only.
- About 6 minutes of waiting.
When to use Kling 4.0
- A scene longer than 15 seconds in one piece with people and camera movement.
- A precise transition from one frame to another: «before and after», transformations, walking from room to room: video from multiple photos.
- A character and objects from several photos: up to 10 references.
- You need to change a clip that is already finished: background, weather, clothing, details, without reshooting.
When to pick another model:
- you need sound and speech in the frame: Veo 3.1 or Seedance;
- you need a fast and cheap draft: Kling 3.0 Turbo or Seedance 2.0 Mini;
- you need a 30-second story scene with sound right away: Seedance 2.5.
How to write a prompt
The rules are the same as for Kling 3.0: one main camera movement per shot, one action per scene. For 30 seconds, lay the scene out by segments, as in multi-shot prompts. Ready examples: Kling 3.0 prompts.
Example for 15 seconds:
Shot 1 (0-5s): wide shot, a girl in a red coat walks into a snowy park, static camera. Shot 2 (5-10s): medium shot, she stops and looks up at the falling snow, slow push in. Shot 3 (10-15s): close-up of her face, snowflakes on her eyelashes, she smiles. Same girl and same red coat in all shots.
Example of a video edit:
Change the weather to heavy snowfall, add snow on the ground and on the trees. Keep the people, their movements and the camera exactly the same.
How to save
- Make the scene draft in 720p and shorter: 5 seconds cost 87 tokens.
- To test an idea, use Kling 3.0 Turbo: 5 seconds in 720p cost 59 tokens, about 2.5 minutes of waiting.
